Carbon Valley rec has brought us together and that is what makes a community stronger!"

Each July, Park and Recreation Month nationally recognizes the more than 160,000 full-time park and recreation professionals -- along with the hundreds of thousands of part-time and seasonal workers and volunteers - nationwide that maintain parks and recreation facilities. Parks and Recreation Districts, like Carbon Valley, have the power to bring people together, strengthen health and well-being, and build more resilient, connected communities. 

This year, we're showcasing the power of parks and rec with our Rec Connect Scavenger Hunt! Showcasing the power of connection, the power of play, the power of community, and the power of belonging that can be found in Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation. We are inviting you to share your experiences, memories, and stories about what parks and rec mean to you at Carbon Valley.  Prize Giveaway

Each week, staff will review story submissions and give CVPRD goodies and gear to the story that best embodies the power of parks and recreation theme of the week. The themes for each week are as follows:

  • July 5-11 | The Power of Connection
  • July 12-18 | The Power of Play
  • July 19-25 | The Power of Community
  • July 26-31 | The Power of Belonging
