Active Adult Day Trips
Carbon Valley Active Adults (age 55 and older) are always on the go! Join us for trips to exciting destinations around Colorado and beyond. Register in advance for your next adventure. Each trip description includes an exertion level number. This is a generalization of the exertion levels that participants can expect on a trip.

Upcoming Trips & Events
Get outdoors with other Active Adults. Join our outdoor walking group. Community member, Glenn, leads the pack and the group walks around the area at whatever your pace might be. Walking group departs from the CVPRD Community Center. Great for beginners or experienced daily walkers. Grab a cup of coffee after with the group. Registration in advance suggested not required.

Frederick High School’s adaptation of Macbeth invites the audience to reflect on ambition, leadership and conscience. It asks: when one reaches for power, what do they sacrifice—not only outwardly, but inwardly? The performance invites us to judge: is Macbeth the architect of his own downfall, or was he always fated to fall? It holds up a mirror to us, asking what we would do when offered the throne. No transportation provided, ticket only. Meet at the high school as a group at 6:30 pm for a 7 pm show. Registration in advance required.

We make the reservation, you meet for good eats and laughter with friends at the NEW Maria Bonita Restaurant in Firestone. Located at 8242 Colorado Blvd. Maria Bonita was born out of a love for authentic Mexican cuisine and the joy of sharing it with our community. Inspired by the roots of Mexican gastronomy, fresh ingredients and traditional techniques to offer a truly unique dining experience. Registration in advance required.

Feeling lucky? Try your luck at Bally’s Casino in Blackhawk. The bus departs from, and returns to the Community Center. Fee includes transportation only. Dining and gambling not included. $10 players card credit given by Bally’s for all advanced registrants. See Community Center Representative for further details of credit earnings. Players Club card required for credits and can be obtained at the Casino. Registration in advance required by November 19, 2025. Cancellations made after this date are non-refundable.

A tour of the Denver Mint offers a fascinating look into the history and craftsmanship behind America’s coins. Visitors can watch coins being made from start to finish through a glass-enclosed walkway that overlooks the production floor, where millions of coins are struck each day. Exhibits throughout the tour showcase historic minting equipment, rare coins, and the rich story of how the Denver Mint became a cornerstone of U.S. coin production. Dine as a group after the tour at Cheddars in Thornton, CO. Registration in advance required. Dining cost not included in registration.
